Joe
Joe is the coach of the Hounslow Harriers, a soccer team with Jess and Jules both play in. Jules likes Joe but doesn’t admit it to anyone. Jess has no idea about Jules feelings towards Joe and in Germany Jess and Joe almost kiss causing Jess and Jules to have a rocky part of their friendship that they soon recover from later in the film. Joe likes Jess but can’t be with her because he’s her coach but at the end of the film he changes teams and they start dating. Joe is very mature at the beginning of the film but towards the end he loosens up a bit like in Germany. He can sometimes be judgy like with his first impressions of Jess, but is also respectful and treats his girls team as he would if he had a boys team. At times he goes by the rules but he tends to rebel against them. He has a very bad relationship with his dad but at the end of the film has tried to overcome it by speaking to him again. Joe values all of the soccer girls’ dreams like Jess’ and Jules’.
